Welcome to my blog! My name is Carol M. Lawless, and I am a senior journalism major and psychology minor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. This blog was previously used for as an assignment for my multimedia journalism class – Spring 09 semester. I focused on healthy eating/lifestyles, but I also posted on some “random” topics that are assignments for my class. UPDATE: This blog will now be used for my Writing for the Web class (Spring 2010).
I have interned at the Community Newspaper Company in Needham, MA (where I wrote for the Allston-Brighton Tab, the West Roxbury/Roslindale Transcript, and the special fall pull-out section) and WFCR 88.5 in Amherst, MA. In addtionI have written for our school newspaper, the Daily Collegian, and Brig, the school newspaper of the Scottish university where I studied abroad last fall. I have working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office. I enjoy writing and taking pictures, although I have little photojournalism training.
I am part of the UMass honors college, Commonwealth College. I am from Boston (Roslindale), Massachusetts.
I am looking for a job and/or internship after graduation (May 2010). I have a special interest in magazine journalism.

HI CAROL!!
Just wanted to let you know what I ate today:
The eggs where really disappointing at Frank this morning. No amount of salt and pepper could remedy them.
The rice and chicken soup for lunch was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It really soothed my sore throat.
I had a wrap for dinner and some mac and cheese. Both were satisfactory.
All in all, not a bad day.
Carol — Nice job with the ‘about’ page and your design. And, I like the direction you’re headed in with your blog entries.
